20 years ago the renal cell cancer was still a tumor that could only be discovered very late.
Modern high resolution ultrasound techniques can definitely tetect cancers starting at 1 ½ cm in size. We use this in our office.
Because the danger of a renal cell cancer to metastasize starts once the tumor diameter reaches 5 cm , a regular ultrasound check-up of the kidneys is only necessary once a year.
An early diagnosed small kidney tumor can be removed locally, the kidney and its functions remaining unaffected.
The above-mentioned preventative measures represent up-to-date medical findings and technology for an optimum in urological care.
